Textile Mills and Their Machinery
Textile mills were very popular in the USA during the 19th century. During the Industrial Revolution the making of thread, yarn and cloth was almost completely mechanized. Here are some images of textile mills long since abandoned and some of the complex machinery used to make cloth.

| The Roswell Mill was instrumental in the 1850s in making cotton and woolen cloth for the confederate troops. General Sherman had the factory destroyed in 1864 in the burning of Atlanta during the Civil War. | |
